Debs 2012 raise over R1 140 000 for charity!

It was my pleasure to address the Debs of 2012 last Saturday at their Ball. I told them how delighted I was with the focus of these young woman on community service. They gave over 1000 hours between them, to helping in various projects and programmes. This has truly made a wonderful difference, not only to the lives of the underprivileged people they helped – including Ekurhuleni Primary School children – but to the Debs themselves. Our society worships materialism, so it is difficult to become a caring, unselfish, compassionate Christian sometimes. These girls have experienced the supreme joy of giving, which has changed them for the better as young Christian women.

We thank all our debs for their commitment and hard work; we thank Natasha Bird, our wonderful debs’ convenor; Karen Balassis our liaison teacher; all the staff who assisted in so many ways, and our caring, supportive and generous parents who were behind our debs, ‘all the way’.

The total amount raised was R 1 146 998.65.
